The Sudanese government is in the process of filing a complaint with the UN committee
The Sudanese government said it was in the process of filing a complaint with the UN due to US rejection of granting an entry visa to President Al Bashir to attend the UN general assembly meetings. "The Sudanese government is in the process of filing a complaint with the UN committee for looking into UN system violation by US as the seat of the organization," the Sudanese foreign ministry spokesperson told Sudan Vision.
The spokesperson further said the committee penalties could be extended to changing the host country in the event such behavior was repeated.
It is worth-mentioning that Sudan summoned the American charge de’ affaires in Khartoum last Friday with regard to US procrastination on issuing an entry visa to President Al basher. Sudan too, presented a protest memo to members of the general assembly.
In a separate development, the Sudanese foreign affairs minister reaffirmed that the economic measures adopted by the government came within the framework of addressing the prevailing economic conditions in the country, describing the recent demonstrations and riot Khartoum recently saw as sabotage.
